delimit without the real value...
(OP)
Hello. First, sorry for my bad english!!.
I'm design a shaft on solid edge, and in plane enviroment there is one thing that i can do it...
this is the shaft
htt p://img127 .imageshac k.us/img12 7/8705/dib ujobt4.jpg
and i want the diameter delimit 25, put only d... i don't want the real value, only the delimit text show "d"
maybe i can't explain very well...

RE: delimit without the real value...
- select the dimension
- then in the RibbonBar (above the main window) you will find
a Button with an X on it. Click on it and in the flyout
that will appear click the gray x at the bottom. The tool-tip
should read 'blank'
now the dimension value is gone. Caution, do not do this with
either dimension function active otherwise it will be applied
to all subsequent dimensions. Always do it after the dimension
is placed and is then reselected!

RE: delimit without the real value...
i have 2 more questions
1. where is the best place for put the annotations, on plane outside the pieze view or inside pieze view?
2. can i change the orientation of the annotations text? for example in the screenshot i upload, the 25 diameter text is vertical and i want to put only the text horizontal.
thanks at all.
RE: delimit without the real value...
1) I don't know which drwaing standard you have to adhere to
but if possible place a dimension out side the piece. But
as usual it depends i.e the diameter of a hole may be placed
inside. The drawing should be kept readable without any
ambiguity/guesswork that's the most important
2)
- select the dimension --> RMB (right mouse button)
- select the tab 'Text'
- in the left frame set the pull-down 'Orientation'
to horizontal.
Quit with OK

.. outside the piece.

What I mean is: outside the 2D-model whether it's inside the
view's border or outside doesn't matter
I don't know why you activated 'Show drawing view border'.
This may prevent you from getting alerted that the 2D drawing
it out-of-date with respect to the 3D-model. This will
be visualized by a small grey border which coincides with
the drawing view's border. In case you did not activate this
option then your view is out of date
the button is located 3 above the SmartDimension

RE: delimit without the real value...
now i'm get it!! but this software isn't optimized like for example catia or solidworks...
anyway my school use it for 3D-modeling and i need to learn it!!
thanks from Spain again for your reply it was very useful!!.
RE: delimit without the real value...
you can't directly compare it with CATIA. With SWX it's
comparable and both are strong or weak in one way or the
other.
Hint: work the tutorials that come with SE then you will
get around most things
