(OP)
Hi,
We have a customer that requires a copy of the 3d model whenever we make a change to the model. They use catia v5, we use solidworks 2007.

They require format to be either catia v, catia v importable models, step203 or iges.

My question is what are the "mportable models" that catia can read? (Is solidworks one of them). I have tried to convert to a cgr file, but my computer keeps hanging up.

Thanks

RE: reading solidworks files

There is a Solidworks plugin for Catia, another Dassault cost option.  You should see good results from step.
CGR stands for Catia Graphical Representation.  There is no surface data that is transfered with this method.

Regards,
Derek
