Windward or Leeward from MWFRS simplified tables

Windward or Leeward from MWFRS simplified tables

(OP)
Back in May of 2006, gglaubrecht asked a great question about how to obtain windward or leeward horizontal loads from the MWFRS simplified tables. I have also been wondering about this very situation. Refer to
http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=154008

In IBC 2000 (Table 1609.6.2.1(1)), the last 4 columns provided those values for Maximum Horizontal Wall Loads for Zone 1E, 4E, 1 and 4. In IBC 2003, those values disappeared so the question was how do we obtain those needed values in the new code?

I just ran across the answer in ASCE 7-02 (which IBC 2003 references) commentary page 273 in which it gives the adjustment values to obtain windward and leeward horizontal forces.

I hope this helps someone else!
