Revision Block Control Macro

Revision Block Control Macro

Revision Block Control Macro

(OP)
All,

I've put together a Revision block control macro called RevBlockControl that allows the user to control the adding of new revisions.  Hopefully this will help many people save time.  Also, feedback is welcome (that's why I'm posting here).  I intend to add functionality as time allows.

Use in good health. :)

Try deleting the reference to the missing library.  I'm not sure why all those libraries are in their.  I started this macro from scratch.

I've removed all non-essential libraries.  It should work fine now.  Try it again (download from the same location, or just remove all the "SolidWorks 2007" Libraries from Edit Macro>Tools>References.

Thanks.   :)

RE: Revision Block Control Macro

OK ... that appears to work. Thank you. I will experiment with it later.

RE: Revision Block Control Macro

Nice macro. A star for your effort. Is there a way to modify your program to allow for extralines in the description field. Like:

1. LENGTH CHANGED.
2. VIEW D REVISED.
3. DIMENSION "1.0" WAS "1.5".

dogarila,

Thanks!!!  So you are one "those", huh? :)  I'll look into it.  There's a limitation on how VB forms handle inputs with carriage breaks.  It's allowed if you enter in the ALT-code, but I'm on a laptop today, so I cannot test how this works in the RevBlockControl macro and how it talks to the Revision Table (no numeric keypad, the the Fn button seems limited in scope when trying to use it for the fake laptop numeric keypad).  There's two ALT-code's you can try...line break and carriage return.  I can't remember the codes off the top of my head, but someone should be able to list them.

As far as long term, I can look into providing a method for multiple lines. At this moment, it looks like I can add a button that lets you insert line breaks?  I'm not sure how I'd handle the preview though.

BTW, I'll be uploading a small update later today to fix a small error I found in the execution of one of the options.  It will be available at the same link above.

RE: Revision Block Control Macro

Alt 0010 for line feed, Alt 0013 for carriage return.  I think people typically use the  line feed.
