How could you measure air volume of an air circuit? I want to find out the pressure build-up in a three stage (telescopic) air cylinder. So what is the easiest way to find out the volume differences?

RE: Air circuit's volume

It depends how the part was created. If you started with a solid and then removed the interior, you could measure before and after volumes.

For the finished telescopic cylinder, you could use the geometry of the cylinder parts to create an in-context solid of the interior volume.

I used core and cavity method. I guess that there should be a better method than this.

RE: Air circuit's volume

If you used the Core & Cavity method, can you not just measure the core volume?

Maybe an image of the pieces involved would help. (FAQ559-1100)

Yes, that is what I did for this simple part. I wanted to know if there is any other way to apply for complicated situations including tubings.

If you have the $$, try FloWorks.
