working on en353

(OP)
we maufacture yoke (automotive part)using en353. we are facing a problem i.e. after carburizing en353 we are unable to machine it because of it hardness &if we choose to machine prior to carburizing we run out on the tolerances. can you please suggest any other way by which we can machine it without effecting the hardness, tolerances
etc.

RE: working on en353

Depending on the configuration of the surface you wnat  to machine, normally we use a surface grinder or a tool post grinder for finish after hardening.

RE: working on en353

You have no alternative but to go in for a post heat treatment machining operation using a surface grinding machine depending on the configuration.
