INSTALLING ANSYS 10 IN WINDOWS XP.

INSTALLING ANSYS 10 IN WINDOWS XP.

INSTALLING ANSYS 10 IN WINDOWS XP.

(OP)
Hi ya,
I thought if anyone in here could be of help. I am currently having problems installing Ansys 10 (Multiphysics) with my Windows Xp (Home Edition). Whenever I try to install,it does half way and my computer shuts down completely.I have CATIA v5 installed on same computer, so I can't figure out why Ansys should be a problem.

Would be very glad if anyone could help with any information.

Cheers.

I guess ansys installation doesn't find to read the licences folder so it is automatically closed out.

If you have an network licence, then contact your IT responsible guy to guide you with the ANSYS FLEXlm Licence Manager, otherwise get in contact with  your local ANSYS official sales office.

hi,
the ansys what u r installing is a original version and where you would like to install it ? on a server machine or on a client m/c ? however this is not usual. Normally once you install the setup files it asks you to run the license manager in regardence with either ur machine is server or client. may be u have some antivirus package installed on ur machine, first disable it and try to install again..

good *uck

RE: INSTALLING ANSYS 10 IN WINDOWS XP.

The OP has already said that he has Catia V5 on XP Home Edition , now he is trying to install Ansys and he hasn't responded to any replies in 9 days !

May be I'm being cynical, but I suspect the legality here, as Greg said you'd get right on the hotline to support with any such problems.

Thank you all for taking time to respond to my question. Sorry I didnt mean to keep silence concerning your response,..just that I have been overwhelmed by workload and a few other things. I have been in touch with my local Ansys and I have since had good response from them. By the way just to clarify things up..I know people are quick to come to conclusions about things..I do have a legal copy of ANSYS PRODUCT 11 released last November and I wanted to install a copy for my personal use in my home Machine which runs on Windows XP but got cut up with installation problems.Like I said earlier, ANSYS europe is now helping out with the relevant information and thank you to all that took time to respond to my question.

Cheers.

Hi,
I thought you were trying to install v.10.
If it's v.11, then I also had very hard times in installing it from the files downloaded from the Customer's Portal. At the end, only the DVD sent by the local reseller solved it. Didn't understand why, though.

Regards
