B31-3 weld renforcement

What is the max outside weld reinforcement for 6" and smaller  sch 40 I am told 1/16 but isn't it twice that?

RE: B31-3 weld renforcement

The maximum height of reinforcement in accordance with Table 341.3.2 of ASME B31.3 is based on weld deposit wall thickness, not pipe OD.

So, for weld deposit wall thicknesses greater than 1/4" to less than or equal to 1/2", the maximum height of reinforcement is 1/8"

For weld deposit thickness at or below 1/4", the maximum height of reinforcement is 1/16".

thanks for your reply metengr I was looking at 341.3.2 and figured Limit is twice the value applicable for L above note meant that 1/16 would be 1/8
