My office is currently switching from ASD to LRFD and I am updating one of my design spreadsheets.  In the FMC section of the LRFD manual, I think I am encountering an error in the example problem.  Specifically, page 11-11 is giving the value of a=(angle leg) - b - (angle thickness).  This is not what is shown schematically in the prying section (pg9-10).  Has anyone else come across this?  I tend to believe the schematic, since that is what matches the 13th edition manual.

Not enough time to dig into the problem, but I do have a suggestion.

Most of the 3rd Edition example problems made it into the 13th Edition example problems that are on the CD that comes with the Manual.  These were looked at by the Manual Committee again this time, so hopefully an error would've been discovered.

I recommend you try to find the problem on the CD.
