ASTM-1527-05 - Pricing

ASTM-1527-05 - Pricing

ASTM-1527-05 - Pricing

(OP)
For all of those in the Phase I ESA market, have you seen an increase or decrease in pricing? Based on my observations the more reputable firms have moved up in pricing while the lower end small firms have remained the same. Further, how has the new standard effected your Phase I business? Please post your observations and experiences, Thanks

RE: ASTM-1527-05 - Pricing

We still haven't gotten a good handle on pricing these yet.  Since the new standard took effect, the number we've been requested to quote/do seems to have dropped off some.  Right now, I figure my price based on the old standard and depending on the client (i.e. new client, client with an established relationship, etc.) I add 10% - 30%.  Once we get a few more under our belts, I'll go back and analyze the time sheets to see what the pricing should be, based on the hours we're spending.

I've got a friend in Central Florida who said he raised his rates 50% across the board.

I’ve yet to have a client ask for the old standard. I spoke with an attorney and he said since there is a new standard the old standard is pretty much obsolete and therefore if something was missed or a lawsuit came about the consultant would be in a tough battle since he followed an obsolete standard.

In our market Phase I pricing ranges from $1,000 to $3,500 for a standard type property. The more reputable companies increased their fee approximately $300 to $500.
