replacing legacy library parts with Toolbox

replacing legacy library parts with Toolbox

(OP)
Hello,

Good day, we are replacing several legacy library parts in some older assemblies with Toolbox parts.

Has anyone done this before? Any tips or suggestion on how to make this as smooth as possible? I imagine the Replace components might be the best way to do this.

Kind regards,

Joseph

RE: replacing legacy library parts with Toolbox

I don't have Toolbox so cannot try, but could you rename elements (faces, eges, etc) used in the mates to match the Toolbox replacement?

Help > Index > replace, assembly components

Quote:

If the old component has a mate that includes a named entity, and the replacement component has a corresponding entity with the same name, the software uses the corresponding entity when re-attaching the mate. You assign names to entities in the Entity Property dialog box.

cheers
