Grease Duct Connection to Upblast Fan

Grease Duct Connection to Upblast Fan

Grease Duct Connection to Upblast Fan

(OP)
Typical kitchen grease duct application, fully welded carbon steel.  Is the connection to the roof-mounted fan welded as well, typically speaking of course.  Or is it flanged and gasketed?

Thanks

Also, separate, but related question.  In a fume hood application, with welded, stainless steel exhaust ductwork, is the connection to the fume hood (typically a nominal, round size) a welded connection as well?  Is this typically how its done? There aren't any chemicals in use in the hood that will "attack" gasketing, but I am just curious how this connection is typically made.

Thanks again.

RE: Grease Duct Connection to Upblast Fan

If it’s a utility set, then attach a canvass to the inlet with (bolts or tek). Fab the canvass with bolted flange on the inlet.  Install a companion flange with gasket on the exhaust duct. On an upblast centrifugal, hang the duct from the curb. Try these http://www.accuduct.com/prod01.htm
