I have the blade of a NEMA 5-15 plug and because of the fire, only the blade. It has a logo on it that is a hexagon with the letters ET inside it. Can any one identify the manufacturer of this?
Thanks

RE: Power cords

I've seen that logo myself, but not for a long time. I wonder if it is/was an electrical testing laboratory.

I think you may be thinking of the old company ETL, now called Intertek. They are a NRTL similar to UL.

RE: Power cords

This is what the ETL logo used to look like.

I've never seen it with a hexagon.

The Hexagon symbol we see a lot in electrical equipment is the Ex symbol inside a hexagon, which means Explosion Proof, but I seriously doubt that has any relation to a NEMA 5-15P plug.

RE: Power cords

ETL is still a very real and active organization, (also ETL-SEMCO).  It has been merged with Intertek, it's logo looks exactly as the graphic JREAF posted except it says "INTERTEK" in the arc of the upper part of the circle mirroring the "Listed" in the lower half.  You can still access them at ETL.com.

RE: Power cords

Yep, that's what I meant. I just didn't take the time to find the new version. I was just making the point that it isn't a hexagon.

I wasn't sure what logo they were using these days. I also just knew it wasn't the hexagon I'm looking for. Probably a manufacutirng company in China is my best guess.

RE: Power cords

Are hexagons a chinese standard?  Maybe someone just wants you to phone home!  OK, that was a pretty obscure joke.  Anyway, good luck in your search for ET and may the force be with you.

It appears that it may be ETCO of Rhode Island.
