Retrieving well casing

Retrieving well casing

Retrieving well casing

(OP)
Hi.  Can anyone tell me how to retrieve casing that had fallen into a borehole during well installation?

It was a 12" steel casing in a 17" borehole.  The hole is 75' deep and about 30' of casing fell in.  The mud in the borehole is way over the casing now.  What's the easiest way to go about doing this?

Thanks!

RE: Retrieving well casing

Hire a professional driller, they have experience at this type of problem, (but rarely admit to it since it comes about due to shoddy practices or by accident).

RE: Retrieving well casing

As stated by civilperson, get a driller.  They have tools made for just this occurance, but will never admit to having needed them.

RE: Retrieving well casing

As the others posters have noted, professional well drillers have specialized tools at their disposal that will enable them "fish" out the pipe.
