Very good. The quiz people give A: Atomic Weight as correct, but at Eng-Tips we know that a few neutrons more or less don't affect properties too much.
Cobalt & Nickel would switch places if ordered by at. wt. instead of at. no.; a few radioactive elements would also.

I would be willing to bet that you would have scored 9/10 without cheating.

RE: Periodic Table of the Elements Quiz

I got 9 out of 10.  I didn't know #10 about the song...

Well done, indeed. I had the same problem with #10, and with #1. Can't say that I am much of a trivia buff, however. One of my associates has a real knack for retaining this type of information. What works for me is to know where to look for specific information.

RE: Periodic Table of the Elements Quiz

Here's a good link I could find for that song. Which I first heard sometime in the early '80's on the Dr. Demento radio show, and again as a freshman in college.

I love materials science!

RE: Periodic Table of the Elements Quiz

Tom Lehrer, of course.

Actually, that's the only question I can answer off the top of my head.  The song was done to one of G&S' "I am the very model of a modern Major-General" from Pirates of Penzance:

My score was 8/10, w/o cheating of course. Didn't know the 1st artificial element or the songwriter.

RE: Periodic Table of the Elements Quiz

Tom Lehrer - from the album "An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer".  7/10 for me, but I have Tom Lehrer's three albums, so I knew that one.
