3D Modelling with AutoCAD LT 2004?

3D Modelling with AutoCAD LT 2004?

3D Modelling with AutoCAD LT 2004?

(OP)
Hey All,

I was trying out the AutoCAD LT 2004 after a long time. I was using AutoCAD 2000 and did lot of 3D modelling with materials & rendering effects. But those options(3D model creation toolbars & rendering) are not there in AutoCAD 2004 LT. Have they removed those options or Any other workaround for that?

Cheers,
Santo RTA

RE: 3D Modelling with AutoCAD LT 2004?

ACAD-LT has no native 3D. It only has some viewing and manipulating commands, but no 3D editing or creation, except basix x,y,z coordinates so it can handle 3D stuff created outside, and viewed in -LT. There are some good add-ons that will allow basic CSG (Constructive Solid Geometry- "Boolean" 3D creation/editing) in -LT, but their product is only usable in an -LT setup using that exact add-on, and not outward-compatible to real ACAD using true ACAD 3D. Still, its basic, but useable. Also, there are some -LT based lisp and vbasic interpreters that will allow you to use vbasic and lisp routines in your ACAD-LT, but by the time you've purchased all of this and paid in dollars, time or both to implement it all, you're better off spending the same extra $ to buy the full ACAD. AND you'll be happier with the result !

Best of luck !

Try this, draw a bulls eye in the center of a piece of paper, put the paper on a wall, start banging head.

That should help :)
