Pumping Ink

Pumping Ink

(OP)
Does anyone out there have experience pumping black printing ink with gear pumps (30 GPM @ 100 PSI)?  I know it can be very abrasive.  I am looking for suggestions on rotor material, bushing material and sealing options.

RE: Pumping Ink

Alternatively, AODD pumps are used quite often.

RE: Pumping Ink

30GPM AT 100PSI FOR AN AODD PUMP IS A TOUGH ONE DEPENDING ON YOUR VISCOSITY. WITH REFERENCE TO GEAR PUMPS ROTAN IS A GOOD ONE FOR ABRASIVES. I WOULD SAY DEPENDING ON THE % OF ABRASIVE MEDIA YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK AT TUNGSTEN CARBIDE COATED COMPONENTS. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO LOOK AT A PROGRESSIVE CAVITY PUMP. THEY ARE LARGER BY DESIGN BUT THEY WORK WONDERS WHEN IT COMES TO ABRASIVES. HOW WILL YOU BE CLEANING THE PUMPS? WITH SOLVENTS OR WATER?
