Large Assembly's

Large Assembly's

Large Assembly's

(OP)
hello,

We have an Assembly with manny parts. (500 +)
We are using sub - Assembly's for the parts but we were wondering if there was a quick way to put for example al our DIN, ISO elements in one folder in the assembly.

RE: Large Assembly's

Folder of the assembly??? Do you mean product or component? or folder under Windows?

If it is inside the assembly- not if you have links to other parts or constraints on these items.  With no links, create a blank component, Ctrl F, Workbench = Assembly design, type = Part, search for a common file name ISO*
Right click over name - CUT, Right click over new component - PASTE.

RE: Large Assembly's

If you are looking for ways to export that assembly to another company, investigate either FILE SEND TO, SAVE MANAGEMENT PROPAGATE DIRECTORY, or DMU SAVE AS FROZEN.  Search the forums for more information, as these have been discussed several times already.

RE: Large Assembly's

we want to arrange everything in the assembly as follows,
our design tree is way to long, if you are looking for some parts it will take u a long time.

Assembly ONE
   --> Sub assembly 1
      -->111
      -->000
   --> Sub assembly 2
      -->111
      -->000
   --> part 1
   --> part 2

......

   --> part 500
   --> ISO bolt, screw 1
   --> ISO bolt, screw 2

......

   --> ISO bolt, screw 600

we want to arrange everything in the assembly
to make it more clearly, more synoptic.

does there exists a manner to arrange everything without
sub assembly's, component,...

RE: Large Assembly's

Components and products organize your tree.  You can you the Re-Use pattern in Assembly design - this again will place items in a component called Gathered Pattern...   You will need a pattern from part design to use this feature in Assembly design.
You can use functions like Parent/children and Center Graph to assist you in navigating the tree.

Regards,
Derek
