Control drawing dimensions - Multiple configurations.

Control drawing dimensions - Multiple configurations.

Control drawing dimensions - Multiple configurations.

(OP)
I have a wheel shaped part that has multiple configurations in SW2007. On each of these configuration the diameter changes from 1 to 3" diameter. I would like to go thru each of my different configurations in the *drawing* without having to adjust the dimension offset for the diameter. By dimension offset, I am refering to[tools][options][document properties][detailing][dimensions][offset distances].

For example, I would like the dimension offset + 1/4 than my diameter everytime. Is there a way to do this?

RE: Control drawing dimensions - Multiple configurations.

By *drawing* do you mean the 2D manufacturing drawing?

Are you doing this to create prints of each config? If so that is not advisable.

Either create a separate drawing of each config; or mulitple sheets within a drawing; or create a table (my preference) of the variable dimensions.

cheers

Yes.

Yes, I am doing this to create prints of each config.

Good suggestions, but I have a problem with these options. I could have 30+ parts to a drawing, which would make it difficult using tabs. I do not want to use table of variable dimensions.

I want the parameter for the dimension offset, so that I control it. I want to automate the printing of each configuration.
