Calculation of Heat Input

Calculation of Heat Input

Calculation of Heat Input

(OP)
If Welding Parameter are as follows;
Amperage  Voltage    Travel Speed(mm/sec)
80~100      22~30                0.78

In order to calculate the heat input, what values are to be taken ?

1)  max ampere(100),  max  voltage(30)  and T/speed (0.78)
2)  min ampere (80),  min  voltage (22) and T/speed (0.78)
3)  ave. ampere (90), ave. Voltage (26) and T/speed (0.78)
4)  others

RE: Calculation of Heat Input

The maximum heat input is the maximum recorded during proceure qualification. If you actually recorded 100 Amps at 30 Volts at .78 mm/min, that will be your maximum in the example given.
