(OP)
Anyone have any good leads on 115-12.47kV substation transformer sources in North America that are under a 50 week lead time right now? Word on the street is that the Katrina effect is still being felt on that market. We're looking for 30-35 weeks.

RE: 115kV transformer sources

Not sure who you've checked with, but all lead times are pretty long right now - shortage of electrical-grade steel for cores.  I assume you're looking for a new one?

I'd start with Virginia Transformer, then GE/Prolec, then maybe Waukesha and Delta-Star.  Pauwels is certainly capable, but doubt they can meet delivery.

Caveat emptor:  You should determine where core would be wound.  At least one of the above could stack and wind core overseas then shop to US for tanking.

Rewound - Jordan Transformer in 24 weeks.  What specifically are you looking for - I know of a couple "spares" sitting around.  Kuhlman just came in at 40 weeks for a new unit but will ship in 30 (order cancellation?).
