Autocad 2007 toolbars/new drawing

Autocad 2007 toolbars/new drawing

(OP)
Greetings all
It's been a while since I've used Autocad (2002).  I now have a chance to use 2007 but when I open up the program
I can't figure out how to start a new drawing and I don't see any toolbars.  All I see are file/view/window/help commands at top left and four icons underneath.  The help menu isn't helping me much.  I never progressed much beyond the novice stage so am kind of lost.  A little assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
RLS

Well, I figured out how to start a new drawing but I still can't figure out how to get the toolbars to display.

Type in CUI at the command line and see if you can go to toolbars and then set them to SHOW.

RE: Autocad 2007 toolbars/new drawing

I only have Acad 2005 so this may not work but worth a try.

In your initial post you said "All I see are file/view/window/help commands at top left and four icons underneath." What is at the bottom of the view menu, it is normally the Toolbars command where you can set the visibility and also customize all of the toolbars and menus.

If that does not work try typing _TOOLBAR at the command prompt and that should bring up the same dialog.

If all else fails I suggest the Autodesk discussion forum, I have just had a look and it seems like there is a poster with a similar problem to yours which may be more use than what I have already said. http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=547634
