When I pick to offset a face in the feature operations menu,,is there a way to keep the box open rather than hitting apply. If you MB2 the face offsets ,,but the box is gone. Just curious,,not a big deal. Thanks for all the help.

That's what the 'Apply' button is supposed to do.  MB2 is OK.  You could try MB3 -> Apply as an alternative to moving the cursor up the Apply button on the dialog.
