Those interested in TreeWorks
(OP)
The following is the reply I received from http://www.deltagl.com/
Quote:
Brad,
We are working on XtreeWorks, however it is a ways off and we have issues that need to be addressed by SolidWorks. There are issues with the licensing of the Document Manager (the part of the SW API that makes all this work) that makes the value of a tool difficult to make woth to many.
We may be releasing a beta non-tree drawing version in the near future that will be the front end to the full blown tree drawing tool. It will allow near instantaneous BOM extraction with Custom Properties as part of that extraction. In addition we will be giving away an Excel routine to turn that output into a very sophisticated hyperlinked BOM. This extraction tool will also have an API so it can be called by routines ours create, for example nightly BOM of material reporting, etc.
Regards,
Guy

There's a new kid in town called SolidMap at:
http://www.solidmap.com/
I would be interested in hearing reviews of this package, as I'm interested in it myself.
Treeworks is really no longer supported and I don't believe a new version is being worked on.

I’ve seen the name Solidmap and always thought it was mapping. A star for you.

Does Solidmap print nicely? We do like the looks of the way TreeWorks prints or would print if we could get a running copy. This would be a tool for non-CAD users to see the over all picture.

I know there are several outputs for the data, but I am not home right now, which is where I have it running. I can try this weekend to print and see what that looks like and I can also let you know what output formats its capable of.
