Canadian Runway crane specs

Canadian Runway crane specs

Canadian Runway crane specs

(OP)
I have a overhead runway crane which runs on an I-beam the length of the building.  It uses a 5 ton hand operated chain fall to lift electric motors out for service.

The I - beam was never given an official rating.  It was flagged during our crane inspections.

Can anyone tell me where I could find the canadian structural requirements for this beam, so that I can give it a rating?

RE: Canadian Runway crane specs

For cranes we use the Crane Manufactures Association of America design standard #70 for overhead and gantry cranes single web girders.  For maintaince we use NAVFAC P-307  http://www.efdlant.navfac.navy.mil/downl/Lantops_15/P_307_SEPT00.pdf. ; The cranes rating is for the system not just the beam.  Try contacting the crane manufacture or the building Engieering Firm for the load ratings and retest.
