Edit in context, selecting geometry for hole wizard

Edit in context, selecting geometry for hole wizard

Edit in context, selecting geometry for hole wizard

(OP)
In working in my assembly, I'm edditing a plate in context with the assembly to add a c-bored hole. So I "Edit" my part and then select the face of the plate and then start the hole wizard. Now I can see the outline of the tapped hole in the transparent plate below, but I cannot "select it" unless I go to Options and turn on "Allow selection in HLR and shaded modes" Then I have to go back and turn that option off when done because its annoying most of the time. Is there another way to select the tapped hole? Is there a toggle or a macro to turn this option on and off easily?

Have you tried recording your own macro?

Actually I have not, for some reason I was under the impression that Options were not selectable within a macro. But maybe I'm wrong, I will try it.

Use the macro in thread559-151300, but change

swDisplayEnableSelectionThroughTransparency

to

swEdgesHiddenEdgeSelectionInHLR

My personal method, first find the sketch defining the tapped hole locations, Show it, then when Editing your Part/Hole Wizard, create relations to the tapped hole sketch points rather than the edges. You have to remember to Hide that sketch once you're finished.
