Translation from French needed
(OP)
Bonjour!
I am a Chemical Engineer who is trying to determine the meaning of a description for a variable in an equation in a technical paper. The paper is written in French, which I cannot speak well at all, so I am confused.
Here is the description: "Plage d'ebullition de l'hydrocarbure au-dela de 393K"
There are accents on a couple of the letters in the description, but I don't know how to incorporate them.
The variable is: deltaTBUL (replace "delta" with a Greek letter delta and it will look like it does in the paper)
I know that the variable has to do with the difference in temperatures between boiling points for a hydrocarbon mixture, but beyond that I cannot say for sure.
I hope you can help me.
Merci,
Rosalynn

Beach of boiling of hydrocarbon beyond 393K
Must be a hot beach.

RE: Translation from French needed
Ebullition: Effusion, outburst, blowup, gush, explosion flare
So does it mean something like this:
The threshold of (Effusion, outburst, blowup, gush, explosion flare) of the hydrocarbon is 20°C ?

To be fair the sentence is kind of out of context.
Best of luck with that!

I think I found your article and from reading around it and my french (haven't used it in awhile but) I think the deltaTBUL is reference to;
a range of boiling points for the interference layer of moisture(water) on the bottom of the hydrocarbon to cause a "boil over". Where a boil over is the water being nucleate boiled, coming to the surface and bringing hydrocarbon with it.

"Hydrocarbon Boiling area beyond 393K". The difference is between the words "area" and "range".
