Problem drafting part for core & cavity separation.
Problem drafting part for core & cavity separation.
(OP)
Hi, i have a fairly simple part and are having trouble trying to draft the part at the parting line. I have created a split line around part and have drafted the sides with 5 deg draft. I need to draft the ends of the part at the parting line. I have separated the core & cavity using zero draft and you will see this when the file is opened. Roll back to sketch30 on the feature manager and you will see part. Any help given on this will be much appreciated. Many thanks.

RE: Problem drafting part for core & cavity separation.
I'd recommend you extrude this part instead of mold it--cheaper for the tooling, cheaper for each part.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to move your parting line on the ends to the top or bottom surface (I'd recommend bottom surface) and draft the entire end face in one direction. So the bottom surface will be longer than your top surface, but it could be done that way.
(By the way, five degrees is a lot more draft than is normally needed unless you're adding some "big" texture or doing something else unusual.)
