Rollback on error

Rollback on error

Rollback on error

(OP)
Hi all,
When rebuilding an assembly with errors, each individual part rolls back to the feature with the error, causing errors in other dependant parts. I've searched help for some kind of setting to change, and was unable to come up with anything.
I'm running SW 07 SP0.0 on a 64 bit sys.
this started only after upgrading. thank you

RE: Rollback on error

Can you upgrade past SP0.0?  I've had numerous assemblies trashed with that SP.

When you say your system is 64-bit, do you mean Windows or your hardware?  If Windows, I'm not sure what SP you can upgrade to.  If hardware, all mine is 64-bit (and dual-core) and SP2.2 works great for me.  That may well fix the problem.

The only other thing I can think of is that your error feature may prevent the part from rebuilding beyond that point.  If so, this is really more of a logic error than a software glitch--best way to fix that is to fix your part feature error and let everything resolve back in the assembly.  (May have lots of dangling references at the rebuild in this case.)

Yes I do have the 64 bit hardware, and dual-core. I'll try upgrading to the next SP, see if that'll make a difference.
I had thought there was a checkbox to set the option...I guess I was mistaken

Thanks for the reply, Jeff

I just reread your message...the assemblies I work with (around 10-30 parts) do have a lot of inter-dependent sketches, and each part will roll back to the first feature with an error, which is usually caused when I edit a part in the assembly.
A lot of times when every part has rebuild errors, all I have to do is manually roll everything forward, and everything rebuilds just fine. I was wondering if there was some way to quickly roll forward all the part's features.
