how to make a sheetmetal rip on a surface like this?

how to make a sheetmetal rip on a surface like this?

(OP)

I'm trying to create a surface rip in ProE Wildfire 3.0, at the corner of the part illustrated in this image:

http://naiad.homeftp.net/proe/eng_wall.jpg

I've started from a solid L-shape, and then switched to sheetmetal mode using the shell option.  I'm aware of the SMT conversion tool, but I don't know how to use it to make the rip in the corner shown in the JPG file.  Does anyone know?

thanks.

RE: how to make a sheetmetal rip on a surface like this?

Try this:

Insert - Shape - Rip

Now sketch a line representing the rip, right into the bend corner. Define the "Bound Surfs as the bottom surfaces of the L-Shape, and the corner rad surface
Repeat for the opposite side.
