Noise from gas pipelines

Noise from gas pipelines

Noise from gas pipelines

(OP)
Does anybody have a reference where i can find info about noise generated from gas pipelines.

I was pretty sure that the bulk of the noise would be from valves, HX and other equipment (compressors of-course but here it would be the machinery more than the gas that would generate noise).

I have however been told that the pipelines would also make noise - even at the modest gas velocities normally used in pipelines.

An article or a "best practise/standard" would be great.

Best regards

Morten
