Control Sketch features only with the parameters in Properties

Control Sketch features only with the parameters in Properties

Hi everybody

I have to model a complicate swept from a 3d sketch.  This part is in revision stage, so it probably will have a lot of changes.  My 3d sketch is now full of dimension defining the poins from the origin, but is hard to my to modify because there are so may dimensions (I really get lost in the sketch).  I found that if I delete the dimensions and modify the parameters in the Properties box is the easiest way to do that because I have the position in the three axis at the same time, but the points are not fully defined and If I make one point coincident to other feature, and move that feature, the point moves too. I don't want to fix and unfix the points every time I need to move a coordinate...  Is there a way to set the points to be controled only with this parameters? (By the way, disabling the automatic solve works, But, again, I can move the points from outside the sketch, if I constrain the points to other feature)

Thank you every body!

You might want to try design tables.  I also believe it's possible to use an external Excel file to control dimensions in a part but I've never tried it.

Well... Actually i used to use a lot of design tables in excel, but I thing is slower than use the own solidworks tools, because I can see the changes almost inmediatly, and see if I made a mistake... With design tables, I have to open it and close several times until finish...  I use it to control diferent version of a similar part, but with this, I have to put the dimensions for every point anyway (and in any case, I prefer to set a dimension value for each config.)
