Does anyone has any info on using Backout factors in calculating UD (0 degree) lamina property from crossply (0/90) laminate
Thanks in advance

RE: Backout factors

Which property?  stiffness? strength?

To get UD E1, you will need data for E2 (or make an extimate), then use laminate theory to back calculate E1 from Ex of the 0/90 laminate

For UD tensile strength, calculate the P/AE strain for the 0/90 laminate, then multiply the strain times the UD E1 to get UD tensile strength.

Thanks SWComposites for your info.
I did find an article by Dr. DF Adams (High Performance Composites -March 2006)
