Unique & Unusual Self-backwashing Filters - DEFERUM

(OP)
Anyone have any knowledge on this DEFERUM Filter (with floating filtering media) and Aerator/Degasifier for removal of gas from water?

RE: Unique & Unusual Self-backwashing Filters - DEFERUM

It is a recycle of an old filter design.

Take the 50 year old design of the Permutit AVGF (as in automatic valveless gravity filter), add new media, and presto, what do you have?

You would be better off buying from a more established company.

RE: Unique & Unusual Self-backwashing Filters - DEFERUM

From the way you've couched your question, Ironman, you seem to possess more than a passing knowledge of this "unique & unusual" process known as DEFERUM.  There were two others, Ozfish and HatcheryMan, from an earlier thread1133-136669 that seemed to have a similar interest.  Back then it seemed like a setup, but now it hardly seems that way at all.
