ShrinkWraps in Drawings

ShrinkWraps in Drawings

ShrinkWraps in Drawings

(OP)
Well I have a problem, I was working with a huge assembly, our total layout of one of our projects actually. And it was way too heavy my small computer would want nothing to do with it. So I thought about shrinkwraping some components. I had experience with shrinkwraping in the past so I gave it a try. I Shrinkwrap every major component of my assembly independently and put them all together. Everything is fine not heavy at all, everything follows the models perfectly. However when I put this in a Drawing every component that was shrinkwrap no matter what view state i'm in, (wireframe, Shaded, ect). it appears in an almost purple color (in the drawing) and I can see it trough all my other components. I tryed to get go trough the view properties and set the view display and still nothing.

I hope someone can help me. I'd just like to have my shrinkwraps cooperate in no hidden line views.

Thank You

RE: ShrinkWraps in Drawings

Under View Display select YES for "Hidden Line Removal for Quilts"

RE: ShrinkWraps in Drawings

Are you sure all your shrinkwrapped parts are solids? I had bad experience in the past with this command.

I did that but some of the quilts still stay...As for the solids, I don't know I always thought they where solid. I make my shrinkwraps from model so they update. I presume they are solide geometrie but I don't know how to tell for sure.

Thanks

RE: ShrinkWraps in Drawings

Look on the assembly in wireframe (hidden or not) If you see parts in magenta, this means those parts are not solid.

RE: ShrinkWraps in Drawings

Have you considered other alternatives to work with your huge assembly:
Simplified Reps - lots of choices here - exclude all small components, simplify the complicated parts, envelope parts, etc.....
Drawing Reps
Z-Clipping the view

Buying a 64bit workstation.....

Well seems they are not Solid...Thank you, And John I've just recently started to experement with this, excluding all small components ( is done, well we don't have many of them in the assembly ), simplify the complicated parts
(Our assemblies are pretty simple theres just lots of em), The envelopes I was going to try next, but i'm still very new to all these procedures, Drawing reps ( is not an option because the view that bothers me most is the Total layout)...and what is Z-clipping the view ?

Thank You, Denis LeBlanc
