can someone tell me what "r6"(metric) tolerenace is?

Metric Standards for Worldwide Manufacturing:

Tolerance zones, R6 comes from a table for internal dimensions (mm) (Holes).

You need to look at the chart (ANSI B4.2)
and R6 is the column tha corresponds to a specific row of hole sizes.

There are 25 different sets of values (0-500mm)

You need the chart, or you need to give us the specific hole size.

Opps, Big R for holes, Little r for shafts...

Regardless, look up ANSI B4.2 or ISO 1829
