Kip 3000 media selection question

Kip 3000 media selection question

Kip 3000 media selection question

(OP)
My office upgraded to a Kip 3000 large format multifunction plotter back in Nov. 06. We have an issue that I cannot resolve with my local support so I thought I would bring it up here.

The issue is when the machine is loaded with 2 media rolls and the smaller of the two runs out during a job. The machine will automatically continue to print the job on the larger sheet size without notifying the operator. This presents a problem if what you are printing cannot be correctly oriented on the larger media. So you loose time and money reprinting sheets or trimming the ones that were printed incorrectly.

I have spoken with my local Kip technicians and the only solution they have is to set the machine to only print on exact sheet sizes. This is not a viable solution for our office prints a lot of hand sketches that can vary in sizes.

So I thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide.
