Need some help in Transient Analysis

Need some help in Transient Analysis

Need some help in Transient Analysis

(OP)
Hi guys,

I am encountering a problem with choosing my input in this situtation. Simulating a harddisk dropping on the ground, having an acceleration as an inital input.

My questions are:

1) Should this be a transient or harmonic analysis? As I understand the input acceleration and load should be of half sine form.

2) Must I use array parameters in batch mode to fetch a sin input?

3) Am I right to use COMBIN14 as the simulation of the vibration?

Please enlighten me. Thanks

Best Regards,
Dunstan

Sorry guys, I type wrongly some things. Let me rephase myself again.

I am encountering a problem with choosing my input in this situtation. Simulating a harddisk dropping on the ground.

My questions are:

1) Should this be a transient or harmonic analysis? As I understand the input load is a of half sine-wave form.

2) Must I use array parameters in batch mode to fetch a sin input? Or can I use the Function input? (Any websites to teach or with examples so I can learn from?)

3) Am I right to use COMBIN14 as the simulation of the vibration?

Please enlighten me. Thanks

Thanks for reading again,
Dunstan
