WB is just empty

WB is just empty

WB is just empty

(OP)
Hi,

The Ansys 10.0 WB starts, but there is practically nothing in the window.  An empty StartPage and nothing to interact with.

I have never used the application before, and I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like.  But surely, this cannot be right.  What might be the problem?

Thanks

RE: WB is just empty

Hi

When starting WB you must make a choice an witch product you want to use, design modeller or simulation etc. If non of these products are availble then there is something wrong with your license file.

Hope it helps
Garry

Thanks for your reply, Garry.  I've been in contact with my local ansys support office and we validated the license together.  Everything seems correct in that regard.

The support described two documented resolved cases where this has happend before.  These cases were fixed by doing some very weared things, like messing around with some peculiar anti-virus-file and running a defragmentation.  Both cases required unique treatment, and neither of the proceedures helped in my case.

I failed to mention before, that it does not say "ANSYS Work Bench" in the WB window frame.  It says "AI*Work Bench".

But perhaps you are right after all.  The support is still working on it.

The support office came up with a solution.  I had to manually register a bunch of dll-files etc.  The whole proceedure seemd quite extreem, but it worked!
