User defined pattern not working as expected/experienced

User defined pattern not working as expected/experienced

In the attached image, I am trying to specify a user defined pattern.  I have some small holes that are patterned near the outside of the part.  To do this, I am trying to define the hole once, and use the pattern to take care of the rest.  I thought that the way I was doing this was something that I've done successfully many times before, but I guess I'm open to the possibility that I'm losing my mind.

Green surfaces represent the hole being patterned.  The 2 highlighted points are the trouble area.  When selecting the sketch with the 2 highlighted points, I expect the points to be placed there.  Instead, they are positioned inline with the points at approximately the "10 o' clock" position, in the photo as shown.

NOTE: the points are small, but they ARE there.

Do I have some misunderstanding about User defined patterns, or is this a bug?

Thank you!

Solid - If highligted points on the left side of the image are you points - the pattern holes should line up.  I just made a pad with hole in the far corner.  Sketch with points at opposite end.  The holes for myself are in the correct location.  What is in the anchor box of the User Pattern Def. menu?
This should be No selection.

Derek

Yes, you are correct, it should be no selection, and that's what I've set to.

This is also a contoured part, and I've asked to keep specifications.  Regardless, however, it has no impact on the outcome.

I may have to submit this one as a PMR.

Don´t you think it s a good idea to actually set an achor point? I always do, becaue sometimes the user-pattern acts erratically when I set no anchor point (I didn´t figure out why). Of course, this means the pattern sketch should contain the center of the original hole.

Steli

I have found that problematic parts only tend to have compounded problems when using anchor points.  Just my experience, but I totally swear against using them...
