Which do you specify for chilled and hot water systems?

If S is seamless then ERW is ok. Just go for the correct thickness.

Seamless for sizes < 2.5" (threaded connections), ERW for welded joint sizes (2.5" and larger).

As I saw your replies for my stupid questions several times,
