bar code readers - DS41

bar code readers - DS41

bar code readers - DS41

(OP)
Does anyone use datalogic barcode readers, in particular the DS41 type. These are becoming obsolete at the moment and were are looking to upgrade ours. We have trialed the later revisions of this model but have encountered similar problems to the older ones.
the issues are not label quality issues but more of the barcode reader it self. im wondering has anyone used better model types for processes such as drums exiting a filler at a high rate with batch number, material number, sequence number etc... the useual data one would expect to capture, not just a good read to detect a if a label is there or not.

RE: bar code readers - DS41

I have had limited success with Datalogic and now always use Sick.  If your trying to detect bottles at hi speed and read labels, you might want to look at camera system.
