Marine Engine Analyzers
Marine Engine Analyzers
(OP)
Hi,
I am looking for a complete system that would allow me to analyse the performance (including Vib/sound parameters analysis) of a marine diesel engine. Such system should also be capable to provide in depth analysis of rotating machinery, T/C, Shafting arrangements and compressors. Dynalco Recip-Trap and Windrock 6310 products seem to do the job. Pls advise other products with the same capabilities. Concluding, is there anyone with previous experience in marine diesel engine analysis by using such systems? How difficult to use are they for someone without analysis experience?

"How difficult to use are they for someone without analysis experience?"
They are designed to be used by skilled mechanics. You will need to do the training course, in my opinion.
Those two instruments seem to do rather different things, I can't really tell what you need.

RE: Marine Engine Analyzers
Thanks for your reply. When I decide to buy such and
instrument it is my intention to visit the States for the
training course they offer.
Nevertheless, as you probably
already know these instruments are quite expensive and now
I am thinking of developing my own acquisition-analysis system, i.e buy all acquisition components and develop a
software program. I am thinking using MATLAB. Could you pls
advise other suitable software?

RE: Marine Engine Analyzers
Scilab is a free equivalent of matlab, tho you can't compile scilab scripts, yet.

RE: Marine Engine Analyzers
Could anyone pls tell me where I could find some kind of details regarding Kotter company/products(analyzers)? I can’t find them on the web. Am I spelling it correctly?
P.S I learned abt this brand while browsing the posts.
