Missing icon identifiers...

Missing icon identifiers...

Missing icon identifiers...

(OP)
Question of the day:  Another user has noticed that the little icon identifiers that pop-up if you let your mouse hover over the icons are no longer showing up.  Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?  TIA...

Doesn't matter how long you let the mouse hover, they don't show up.

I've done the gambit of searching for answers, to no avail obviously. I'm out of ideas...  Anyone?  I promise a shiny new star to whomever solves this little dilemma.  smile

RE: Missing icon identifiers...

I seem to remember having this problem a long time ago. Unfortunately I don't remember what caused it or what solved it.

Do you load any custom toolbars or run any macros on startup? If so, disable them and see if the tool tips come back.

I ran across this in the gateway help:

Quote (UG Help):

Setting Tool Tip Time
You can specify how long a user must leave the cursor over an icon before the tool tip displays. To set this value, set a resource in the Ugraf*** file. *** is the version number of Unigraphics NX. For example, for Unigraphics V18, the Ugraf file is Ugraf180. Note: For Unigraphics NX, the Ugraf file is Ugraf190. For example:

Ugraf***labelPopupTime:<time value in milliseconds>

The time value is expressed in milliseconds. A value of 1000 equals 1 second, 2000 equals 2 seconds, and 15000 equals 15 seconds. The default is 500 milliseconds, or half a second.
Maybe if this file got damaged it would affect the tool tips.

RE: Missing icon identifiers...

I vaguely remember that if using XP, switching to the Classic Start Menu "fixes" some issues. Not entirely sure if this is one of them though.

RE: Missing icon identifiers...

Try messing around with the graphics accelerator on your machine if this is a Windows Box. Also run the performance test in NX and do what it suggests, finally update your graphics driver.

The way they are displaying the icons on the screen at that time may be having issues with your graphics driver on your machine. Probably not NX.
