RE: Comparison b/w nx3 and v18

Completely different.

For starters, the interface was re-done to look more XP-ish.  New commands have been added in Modeling.  Selection Intent is integrated into many more commands.  Sketcher may look different (can't really remember v18 Sketcher).  Preselection has been increased (select an object then MB3 to bring up a choice of operations).  For example, you can now preselect an Edge then click MB3 and pick Edge Blend rather than picking the icon, picking the edge and then going back to the dialog to enter values.  Dynamic displays are present in many more operations.  The user interacts more onscreen rather than typing values into dialogs.  The plotting is completely different...no more pqmgr.

I really doubt that one could come up with quick descriptions that would give you a good idea of how different NX3 is compared to V18.  UGS has taken many new approaches to how things are done in the NX series.

Your best bet might be to log into the GTAC site and look over the What's New Guides for NX, NX2 and NX3 in order to get a much better feel for what to expect.

More big changes are coming down the road very soon...check out the NX5 Beta What's New Guide as well.
