workbench exporting/saving

I've placed a lot of icons (commands) on my workbench (Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting)

Since I got a crash I would like to save these icons
(both position and commands) so I don't have to
search for all these commands again after reinstalling Catia

In other words how to preserve User Interface after reinstalling Catia?

Any suggestions?

Experiences ?

RE: workbench exporting/saving

Hi,

Depend on your working system (Windows or UNIX), you will find a path where there is a folder named CATSettings on both OS which stores your CATSettings files.

Save all those CATSettings files in a back-up folder and just copy them back when you want to restore your personal settings.

You can run a small script script to do that when you want...

Fernando

Thanks Ferdo for your solution.

But I would prefere setting up an ENVIRONMENT with default CATSettings.

Check online doc to find out more on how to manage ENVIRONMENT or search Forums.

You will be able to do much more with an ENVIRONMENT, like define drafting Standard, and default path for all kind of CATIA files (CATSettings, temp...)
