CUT EXTRUDE FAILING

CUT EXTRUDE FAILING

CUT EXTRUDE FAILING

(OP)
I have a sketch on a flat surface.  I'm trying to use this sketch to extrude a cut down from the flat surface .025.  I'm getting a rebuild error that says " unable to create this extruded feature due to geometric conditions".  The sketch is fully defined and is a closed sketch.  The flat surface it is built on is .070 thick.  I've used the "check sketch for feature" and there are no problems.  Can't understand why the cut extrude won't work...seems simple enough.

any suggestions...  ??

Thanks for the help.

John

RE: CUT EXTRUDE FAILING

Can you post an image or file for examination?

cheers

RE: CUT EXTRUDE FAILING

Sounds like you may be getting something like zero thickness geometry or similar.  An image might solve that quickly.

Thanks CBL.... I've got it.  wierdest thing though... I copied the sketch pasted the sketch into a new document onto a surface.... still wouldn't extrude (cut or boss).  I just redrew the sketch and then it worked.  So be it.......

You may have had 2 lines on top of each other. I have seen this a lot.
