Demagnetizer

(OP)
Hi Guys,

Looking for a design for a demagnetizer coil.

It's inner dimensions need to be 6 Inch x 12 Inch (rectangular)

It will be used to demagnetize work pieces that have been subjected  to the magnetic chuck of a surface grinder.

Voltage will be 240v AC.

Thanks & regards,

Rasberry

RE: Demagnetizer

Good morning,
Why build when you can buy much cheaper, try this company Reid tool supply or McMaster Carr. We have used both of them in the past for the same application and have had great sucess for many years now. Our unit is 6 x 4 but they have other sizes. Ours is 120v.

Hi 2571,
Many thanks for your prompt reply, I'll certainly investigate.

I am located in North Queensland, Australia, I daresay the company you mention, is in the UK, ?? anyway thats not to say they dont have a branch over here.

But the reality is, that I'm a recently retired electrician,
and I'm looking for a project to keep me occupied.

Thank you again,

Regards,
Rasberry.

RE: Demagnetizer

I just did a Google search and found a site that looks like it would be reasonable.

It's pretty simple. If you're looking for a project to keep you occupied, I don't think this will occupy you very long.

Rasberry
