I have specified bearing fits in accordance with the fits recommended by the SKF catalogue. The housing I am using is made of aluminium alloy to material specification LM27

The bore & shaft dimensions are as follow:

    housing bore dia    tolerance
1)    80            K7
2)    52            K7
3)    47            K7

    Shaft dia        tolerance

1)    20             k5
2)    25            k5
3)    40            k5

Pl through light on whether I should go by the tolerance specified in the catalogue. If I catalogue tolerance is used, the gear set is producing noise.

I tried to tighten the tolerance using m6 fit on shafts. I can find there is considerable reduction in noise. Is it correct to give m6 in violation of the tolerance specified in the catalogue?
