I want to import a solidworks sketch to mastercam X.  All I can do is save a solid as an .iges but all I need is the sketch.  Is there a better way to do this?  It wont let me save a sketch as an .iges.

RE: Mastercam

Create a dwg and save as DXF. Import into MasterCAM as DXF.

What version of MasterCAM?  MasterCAM X can read in native SWx files.  I would just create a feature and read that into MasterCAM.....unless you really want a 2D element then follow Chris' instructions
